The award was granted at the 50th edition of the Portomaggiore Antique Fair held in Italy on September 14 and 15, with the presentation to take place during EIMA.

The implement MINI NF 9+2 VC was awarded the 1st Prize in the 2024 Edition of the Portomaggiore Antique Fair. This award underscores the importance of innovation in soil management techniques that promote agricultural sustainability and reduce environmental impact.

This year, the main theme chosen was “Innovation in Mechanization for Sustainable and Safe Agriculture.” This theme reflects the ecological transition goals of the European Union’s agricultural and environmental policies, especially through initiatives such as the Green Deal, the “Farm to Fork” strategy, and the European Climate Framework.

As a result of these premises, the Commission decided to grant the 2024 Edition Award to the machine: MINI NF 9+2 VC, presented by Ovlac through its distributor in Italy, Gierre srl.

The reasons for this recognition were that the machine "enables shallow soil work (8-20 cm deep), combining the incorporation of surface plant residues with the loosening of the lower layers." The commission particularly valued this approach for its ability to address the problem of weed proliferation, which conservative tillage techniques, without soil inversion, find challenging to contain.

The highlighted aspects of the MINI NF 9+2 VC are:

  • High work efficiency: Thanks to its 9 working bodies and its capability to operate at high speed, this machine offers excellent ground coverage.

  • Residue incorporation: It successfully incorporates plant residues and weed seeds, which helps control them for the following year.

  • Soil breakdown: The working components exert a breakdown action that prevents the formation of a plow pan, improving soil health.

  • Soil porosity: Leaves the soil with an adequate level of porosity that requires minimal refinement for seeding, reducing compaction and energy costs.

Ovlac, Agricultural Machinery Manufacturing S.L., founded in 1936 and now in its third generation, has been active in the Italian market for over 30 years, with an annual export of 8%. The company from Palencia will receive the award during the EIMA 2024 Fair, which will take place in Bologna from November 6 to 10.
