Organized by Banco Santander, the Spanish Chamber of Commerce, and in collaboration with Diario Palentino, the award aims to recognize the work of small and medium-sized enterprises in the region.<\/p>\n

Ovlac<\/strong> is celebrating. Yesterday, October 22, it received the \u2018SME of the Year Palencia 2024\u2019 award, presented by Banco Santander and the Spanish Chamber of Commerce, with the collaboration of Diario Palentino. The award was collected by the managers and brothers, Jorge and C\u00e9sar Calvo, the third generation of the family business founded in 1936.<\/p>\n

Jorge Calvo expressed his gratitude for the award but emphasized the need for greater social recognition from institutions and the media. \u201cIn this country, we lack that recognition, and business owners are not the villains. Without companies, there are no jobs, no sustainability, nothing,\u201d he said after receiving the award.<\/p>\n

The regional director of Banco Santander in Castilla y Le\u00f3n, Javier Mart\u00edn Clavo, thanked institutions, business owners, and Diario Palentino, a collaborator of the event, for organizing this eighth edition. \u201cWe want to be close to businesses because you are the engine of the economy. We must take pride in the entrepreneurial class we have, as these are challenging times due to uncertainty, and business owners have shown they know how to navigate despite the unknowns,\u201d he emphasized.<\/p>\n

Other awards presented included: \u2018Digitalization and Innovation\u2019 to World Skate S.L., \u2018Internationalization\u2019 to Mercapac\u00edfico Norte SL, \u2018Training and Employment\u2019 to La Virgen del Brezo, and finally, the honorable mention for \u2018Sustainable Business\u2019 went to Biotecnolog\u00eda Forestal Aplicada S.L.<\/p>\n

The Spanish Chamber of Commerce, with the collaboration of Banco Santander, announced the winners and presented the VIII SME of the Year Awards in their provincial phase yesterday. The jury selected from the merits submitted by a group of 22 companies that applied, recognizing their daily work in the realm of small and medium-sized businesses.<\/p>\n

Ovlac<\/strong>, Agricultural Machinery Manufacturing S.L., with over eight decades of history, continues with the same entrepreneurial spirit. Constant innovation and development have made it the largest Spanish manufacturer of soil-working machinery, producing over 1,000 machines annually, 60% of which are exported to more than 20 countries worldwide. Undoubtedly, a true industry leader. The Palencia-based company will compete for the \u2018National SME of the Year 2024\u2019 award, which will be chosen from the winners of each province.<\/p>\n
